Peer Outing Programme
The POP service is delivered in partnership with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust Children and Young People’s Disability Teams. The service provides support to young people transitioning between school and adult services.
The POP outings take place once a month and can be activity based or joining in with a community event.
This project focuses on the individual, providing the necessary support for participation in the programme, whether this is personal care, transport or appropriate supervision.
The support provided gives young people the choice to experience new environments and avail of new opportunities.
The project aims to improve the quality of service for young people with a disability by promoting a person-centred approach and ensuring an ethos of social inclusion and choice giving young people control over their lives.
